Smol Ame is a small speedrun game developed by KevinCow. The creator of the game, KevinCow, defined the game as an “A smol demo for a smol game about smol Ame.” Let’s take a closer look at this indie game, which has been mentioned frequently lately. Let’s see if Smol Ame is an entertained game that can impress you?

Smol Ame in a Nutshell

Smol Ame is a simple to play but fun speedrun game that you can play with the arrow keys and WASD. KevinCow, the developer, stated that the character Ame in the game was inspired by Watson Amelia, an anime character created by a Youtuber. In the game, you try to reach the finish quickly by overcoming various obstacles. There are five different maps-levels in the game; Ame’s Office, Pekoland, To The Moon, Red Heart, and Pop on Rocks. Each level in the game has different difficulties. It was especially nice to switch between maps as if you were carving the game. To get more information about the game, you can visit Smol Ame’s official website.

Smol Ame Gameplay

KevinCow, the developer, stated that he developed the game inspired by a YouTube channel named Watson Amelia Ch. hololive-EN. The owner of Watson Amelia Ch. hololive-EN plays games and produces content in live broadcasts on YouTube with five beautiful anime characters who are made by independent artists. Hololive is a branch of a corporation that owns five YouTube channels based on those five different anime characters, including Watson Amelia. Among these five channels, Gawr Gura Ch. hololive-EN has the most followers with 2.9M followers. Others are Mori Calliope Ch. hololive-EN, Watson Amelia Ch. hololive-EN, Takanashi Kiara Ch. hololive-EN, Ninomae Ina’nis Ch. hololive-EN, respectively. As We mentioned that Smol Ame was inspired by Watson Amelia and she played the game, inspired by her on a live broadcast on her Youtube channel Watson Amelia Ch. hololive-EN. Smol Ame Soundtracks

Under this title, we will talk about the game’s soundtracks because I don’t want to end the article without mentioning the soundtracks of the game. Songs used in the game, chosen by KevinCow, really give you enjoyment while playing the game. You can find all the songs used in the game on the game’s official website.

Let’s also mention that you can submit the record records of the game you play to a site called Speedrun. On this website, you can view the Leaderboards on different maps under the Smol Ame category. So you can compare your statistics with other people playing the same game and try to get to the top of the list.

Author Ratings: 4/5

Smol Ame is a simple game where you can have fun. Soundtracks of the game added a different excitement to me. The gameplay style is like Mario, but there are many different challenges like the arrows following Ame. The dynamic camera is very well thought out for such a small game. In short, my score for Smol Ame is 4 out of 5.

  1. I noticed a couple mistakes in this review. Mainly in this sentence,

KevinCow, the developer, stated that he developed the game inspired by a YouTube channel named Watson Amelia Ch. hololive-EN. The owner of Watson Amelia Ch. hololive-EN plays games and produces content in live broadcasts on YouTube with five beautiful anime characters she made. The owner of Watson Amelia channel has five different Youtube channels based on those five different anime characters. Among these five channels, Gawr Gura Ch. hololive-EN has the most followers with 2.9M followers. Others are Mori Calliope Ch. hololive-EN, Watson Amelia Ch. hololive-EN, Takanashi Kiara Ch. hololive-EN, Ninomae Ina’nis Ch. hololive-EN, respectively.

These five channels are not made by Amelia, each one is made by independent artists, and are all owned by cover corporation, in a branch know as hololive. In hololive, there are also many sub branches, and Amelia is part of the hololive EN (english) subbranch. Think of it as voice actors acting behind the facade of a character, with the character made by someone else. All of these “talents” as they are called, were previously independent content creators, which got through auditions from hololive in order to fill the role. Many if not all of these “Vtubers” did not know of each other before their debut.
