That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for all the gamers because Kerbal Space Program 2 is on its way! After nearly eleven years and its reveal at Gamescom in 2019, we will see KSP 2 and explore its galaxy. The game was developed by Intercept Games and published by Private Division. You might be asking, “What is so exciting about this game?” Let’s take it from the start.
What is Kerbal Space Program 2?
Kerbal Space Program 2 is a space flight sim with countless stars and planets to visit. It’s the successor of the Kerbal Space Program, with next-gen exploration and plenty of new features.
The gameplay will take some time to learn. This is what we love about the KSP 2, it is a sim after all, and without reading (and writing maybe), it would be just a game. Okay, so let’s get back to what we know about it and these new features?
Kerbal Space Program 2 Features
- Next-gen Graphics and Tech:
The first game was released back in 2011. The graphic quality of that first game wasn’t very modern. However, in Kerbal Space Program 2, the galaxy looks pretty good. At least what we can see from the alpha footage was good. Ships and structures seem impressive with next-generation engines and new materials.
- Number of Planets:
We say the number of planets, but we don’t know the exact number of planets, and we believe that’s the best part.
KSP 2 will allow interstellar travel. This means players will be able to find countless stars with tons of planets around them. A ton of planets means a ton of possibilities. Developers stated that there will be different types of planets with new challenges. For instance, Rask and Rusk, two planets that are locked in a dance of death, and Ovin, a super-earth-ringed planet with unforgiving gravity.
- Colonies:
One of the new features is colonies. This is our favorite aspect of the game, after the multiplayer feature.
Of course, with great power comes great responsibility. In the new colony feature, there will be challenges. Some examples are resource gathering to build space stations, habitations, and structures.
- Multiplayer and modding:
As we mentioned in the previous point, this is our favorite feature. Together, you and your friends will dominate the cosmos and build new colonies in countless star systems. Space and friends, we can’t think of anything else that would be more fun. The developers also stated that KSP 2 has the modding capabilities of the original game.
Despite all these features, the game will have orbital construction, new resources, new ways to generate power in colonies, and new fuel types. More details about the upcoming features will be revealed on the game’s website. Be sure to check it out so you won’t miss any news.
Kerbal Space Program 2 Release Date
Unfortunately, we don’t have a release date for Kerbal Space Program 2. All we know is that the game will be released sometime in 2022.
Kerbal Space Program 2 will be coming out on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
