It is easy to forget that taking care of our cute friends is demanding. Animal Shelter is a game about taking care of them, finding a home for them, and expanding your business. The game was in Early Acces and was released on March 23, 2022. The game still needs to be improved in many aspects. But it has potential in the simulation genre.
The Animal Shelter Simulator is a life-simulation game with cats and dogs. The game was developed by Games Incubator and published by Games Incubator with PlayWay S.A.
Animal Shelter doesn’t have a story, considering it’s a simulator. You play as a shelter owner (shelter worker? We don’t know how to describe the job). There will be cats and dogs coming in and out while you improve your shelter.
As you can see from our playthrough, you start from the outside. Then you check your e-mail for animals, choose what you can accept (according to your choice at the beginning), and progress.
When your cute friend arrives, you take care of it. You need to order food, water, and toys and also need to pet and play with them to keep them healthy.
After some back and forth, you can build new play zones, new cages, and other necessary buildings. Actually, this is where the gameplay gets a bit dull. It’s fun to play with, pet, or find homes for them. But it’s the same process over and over again. The animals don’t have much personality of their own. For us, the variation is the missing part of the game. On the other hand, the graphics and animations are decent for a newly released game.
