Before we dive into tips and things to know before starting Township in Melvor Idle, let’s remind you what the game really was about. Melvor Idle is an idle indie game that can be played in a browser. It’s a unique combination of RPG-like features and idle gameplay mechanics. Players can progress in real-time while engaging in various activities such as combat, resource gathering, and skill improvement. In our opinion, the game is suitable for both casual and more dedicated gamers because it offers continuous updates and has an active community.
Things to Know Before Starting Township in Melvor Idle
Melvor Idle combines idle mechanics with RPG elements, making it a unique experience. First things first, it’s important to understand the game’s core mechanics, which include skills, combat, and resource management, to get started with the Township aspect. To be successful in the game, you should familiarize yourself with these elements and aim to maximize your efficiency.
Planning is key in Melvor Idle. You should decide which skills you want to focus on and which resources will be most beneficial for your Township. Balancing your approach between combat, crafting, and resource gathering is essential for a well-rounded start.
It takes around 2-3 weeks to reach Level 99 in Township, and 3-4 more weeks to get to Level 120, which makes it a total of 5-7 weeks. However, the duration may vary depending on your activity. By completing Casual Tasks, you can speed up the process.
Township offers you plenty of GP from Town Halls and various resources and consumables from the Trading Post.
Make sure to upgrade your town consistently as it will degrade if you don’t, and you should update it at least once a day. Upgrading more frequently will be even more beneficial.
Resources may get deleted if your storage cannot hold them, which may slow you down significantly. This will only happen after your current storage exceeds your maximum storage and a tick/town update occurs.
Seasonal Modifiers boost production early and decrease it later, so building quickly at the start may be better. If you’re not ready to commit to Township, waiting until you’re prepared may be a better decision.
Remember that you cannot fail Township, and there’s always a solution to fix your town, no matter how bad it looks.
Melvor Idle Township Quick Tips
Effective resource management is crucial to Township success. Prioritize essential resources for building and upgrading to maintain steady progress. For instance, wood and stone are fundamental, so ensuring a consistent supply is vital.
Skills in Melvor Idle often complement each other. Improving Woodcutting yields wood and Firemaking experience from burning logs.
Quests in Melvor Idle can unlock essential items and bonuses for your Township. Don’t overlook these quests as they can significantly boost your progress and provide resources that might be difficult to obtain otherwise.
Melvor Idle receives regular updates including new content, bug fixes, and balance changes. Stay informed of the latest changes as they can impact your strategy and progress in the Township.
Casual Tasks can help you progress faster in the early game. You can unlock them by completing each of the base game Dungeons once. Upon completion, you can earn 10,000-75,000 Food+ Wood+ Stone. Starting with Dragons Den, you can also earn Planks and Bars!
The main goal in Township is to prioritize the resource you need the most and then increase your Population (XP). If you are unsure which worship to use, Aeris is the safest and the best choice due to having the highest cost reduction at -25% building cost. This reduction doubles in spring and can help you reduce the resource and repair costs of your Township. It’s highly recommended to pick a god since the cost to switch worships, including to and from “None“, is 50,000,000. This will also destroy any worship buildings and your entire town will need 50% repairs.
The cost of all buildings (excluding the Statue of Worship and Town Hall) up to level 99 is 123,948,850. Level 120 will cost an additional 220,322,010. Additionally, 50 Statue of Worship and 8 Town Hall will add an extra 850,000,000 for a grand total of 1,194,270,860.
Repairing early is a waste of resources. Instead of repairing first and then building a new one, try to build a new building since it repairs for FREE.
The Swamp, Valley, and Arid Plains provide a 1.5x multiplier to most buildings in these biomes while the Jungle, Desert, and Snowlands provide a 2x multiplier to most buildings in these biomes. This bonus production will be factored into the displayed values.
Building Cost Reduction will also reduce repair cost, which can be very valuable before you build your Town Halls.
Worship modifiers are multiplicative, which means they can dramatically increase the resources you gain.
If your Population is low, check your Health. Health is the final multiplier of population. Having 75% health will result in 75% of your population.
Buildings that are at 0/x Built (meaning you haven’t purchased any buildings in this tier yet) do not receive damage. This can be useful to prevent buildings from decaying (loss in resource production). However, this has a very niche use case.
Lastly, keep in mind that seasons have modifiers. You can click View Season Modifiers in-Game or check out the Seasons Section on the Wiki to learn more about them!
In summary, to master Township in Melvor Idle, you need to have a solid strategy in place, manage your resources effectively, and stay up-to-date with the latest game updates. Prioritizing your resources, balancing skill development, and completing quests are crucial to your success. Whether you’re improving your town’s efficiency through Aeris’s worship or dealing with seasonal modifiers, every decision you make will impact your progress. Remember that your journey in Melvor Idle Township is a unique one, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to success.
