Most of us watched John Wick. It is a popular action movie with intense fighting and shooting scenes. You might also remember the dinner reservation scene where the cleaning team came into John Wick’s house and cleaned it. For those of you who don’t remember or didn’t watch the movie (and we strongly recommend you do), it is a team that cleans out the dead bodies. Their jobs are important to people like Mr. Wick. But it didn’t sound like fun to play those characters when we first heard about Serial Cleaners. But after watching the gameplay footage and trailer, we loved it! Maybe it’s too early to talk much about the game because we only have a few trailers for now. Here is all we know so far about Serial Cleaners.
Serial Cleaners is a single-player stealth action game with four playable characters that clean out the evidence in their own style. The game was developed by Draw Distance and published by 505 Games. 505 Games might sound familiar to some gamers from DEATH STRANDING, Control Ultimate Edition, and GHOSTRUNNER. Also, Draw Distance developed the first game, Serial Cleaner, back in 2017. The first game was a 2D action-stealth game, so we can say the game has been upgraded on a large scale. What does this game have to offer? What did we see about the gameplay?
Serial Cleaners Gameplay
The game is about cleaning dead bodies and their leftovers (blood, to be exact). While doing this, there will be patrolmen (this is how developers define them) around the crime scene and the building. This is where our characters show their talents. Let’s go over them one by one.
First, let’s start with Bob. He is the same character as in the first game. He has the ability to use body bags to carry bodies more easily, and he can slide on blood to go faster. Yeah, it is weird, but it looks cool in the gameplay footage.
The second character is Psycho. He is the mad guy in the crew (as you can say by his name). His ability is to cut people with a saw. He can throw limbs (especially feet) at patrolmen to knock them out. It is a bit scary but hilarious to watch at the same time.
The third character is Lati. She is a girl with parkour skills. She uses her environment not for hiding but for moving around quickly, jumping, and climbing over obstacles. This character is for people like I have got a job to do. I’ll do it quickly and easily.
The fourth and final character is Vip3r. She is our Dedsec member and can hack terminals for a fast way in or out. She can also use her surroundings to distract enemies. She is our favorite because she has the most powerful stealth mechanic: distracting your enemies from further away.
Besides the characters, the world design, especially the graffiti, is fascinating, with 90s music and maps. Serial Cleaners seem promising. variations of gameplay mechanics, energetic soundtracks, and challenging levels (at least they don’t seem easy in the trailer).
