Initially revealed at The Game Awards 2021, ARC Raiders is an action-packed sci-fi shooter from Embark Studios. In this game, you will face off against mechanized enemies falling from space, making every session an intense battle.
The team behind the game comprises ex-DICE developers who worked on titles such as Battlefield and Star Wars: Battlefront, so the expectations are high for this one.
However, as you know, the game has undergone a bit of a change of plan in its gameplay, a genre shift that is explained by Executive Producer Aleksander Grondal. Apparently, the developers wanted to take the title in a different direction and add more depth to the game’s world.
In the words of the producer, “The ruthless machines of ARC demand more than just point-and-shoot shooting. To defeat them, players need to think on their feet and rely on improvisation, using physics and surroundings to their advantage.“
This explains that the upcoming free-to-play title will now be a PvPvE extraction shooter with “unique game mechanics” that “reimagine cooperation.”
As the developers want the game to be more than just a shooter, they’ll give users a chance to explore “a lethal future earth with hair-raising moments of survival and suspense” where “you and your friends will need to work together in order to survive.“
ARC Raiders PC System Requirements Have Not Been Announced
ARC Raiders PC system requirements have not been released yet, but the developer is hoping to have them up soon, considering that they’ve just shifted the game’s genre and are planning to go closed alpha tests of ARC Raiders this month.
