Key takeaway: Participating in Spotlight Hours is an excellent way for trainers to bolster their Pokémon collection, accumulate resources, and enjoy the dynamic aspects of Pokémon Go.
In Pokémon Go, Spotlight Hour is a weekly event that occurs every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.During this hour, a specific Pokémon’s spawn rate is significantly increased, providing trainers with an excellent opportunity to catch large numbers of that Pokémon. Each Spotlight Hour also features a special bonus, such as double experience points (XP), double Stardust, or double Candy for specific actions.
For February 2025, the Spotlight Hour schedule is as follows:
- February 4: Carvanha with a bonus of double Evolution XP.
- February 11: Luvdisc with a bonus of double Catch Stardust.
- February 18: Inkay with a bonus of double Catch XP.
- February 25: Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott with a bonus of double Catch Candy.
To maximize the benefits of Spotlight Hours, trainers can employ several strategies:
- Use Items Wisely: Activate items like Lucky Eggs during double XP events to further boost experience gains.
- Plan Evolutions: Save Pokémon evolutions for Spotlight Hours that offer double XP for evolving to maximize experience points.
- Manage Pokémon Storage: Ensure you have ample space in your Pokémon storage to catch as many of the featured Pokémon as possible during the event.
- Utilize Incense and Lures: These items can increase the spawn rate of the featured Pokémon, enhancing your chances of encountering them.
While Shiny rates are not explicitly increased during Spotlight Hours, the higher number of encounters with the featured Pokémon naturally boosts the likelihood of encountering a Shiny variant.
