Wild Hearts is a new game developed by Omega Force, the studio behind the long-running Dynasty Warriors series. It focuses on hunting giant monsters in a fantasy world inspired by feudal Japan, where Kemono has taken over the environment and is killing citizens with their poisonous oozes. Since February 17, 2023, Wild Hearts has been available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PCs.
Wild Hearts is also available for EA Play Pro subscribers and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. The game’s PC version is currently on EA Store, Epic Games Store, and Steam. To get you started, EA has a Wild Hearts demo that’s available to those who subscribe to EA Play Pro or have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. This demo gives you a chance to explore the first few hours of Wild Hearts, and progress will carry over if you decide to purchase the game later.
What Does Wild Hearts Offer?
While it’s certainly going to be compared to the classic Monster Hunter franchise, Wild Hearts has a few unique twists that make it stand out. The main difference is that whereas the Monster Hunter games have been traditionally slower in their gameplay, Wild Hearts is a much more fast-paced affair.
The game is set in the fictional land of Azuma, a vibrant and colorful world heavily inspired by Japan’s feudal era. This land has suddenly been overrun by a savage group of creatures known as Kemono, who have evolved to manipulate nature and wreak havoc on the natural world around them. As a deadly hunter trained in the art of combat and equipped with ancient technology called Karakuri, it’s your job to tame these wild beasts and restore balance in Azuma.
You’ll be able to fight against a range of terrifying monsters, including the Deathstalker, Amaterasu, and Golden Tempest. The Deathstalker is a giant wolf-like creature that can perform ice attacks to freeze its prey before biting them in half. Kingtusks are huge wild boars that can ensnare their foes with their tusks or conjure up vines to entangle them. Lavabacks are towering gorilla-like monsters that can create lava to spew from their bodies.
