The First Descendant offers a variety of quests throughout your journey, allowing you to progress in the main story and gather essential materials for unlocking more descendants and weapons. Among these, some quests are exclusive to specific Descendants. One of the early quests you can embark on is Follow Their Traces, which is a Bunny quest.
Follow Their Traces is a mission where you need to find records of Bunny’s parents in the Restricted Zone within the Sterile Land. Reaching this area requires some effort, and finding the records can be challenging due to the vague clue suggesting they’re near cliffs and the High-Powered Jammer. However, we’ve pinpointed the exact location to help you complete this quest smoothly.
Steps to Complete the Follow Their Traces Quest
- Unlock Bunny as a Character:
- Swap to Bunny to initiate her first quest, Follow Their Traces, as part of a longer questline after completing some preliminary tasks in Albion.
- Unlock the Sterile Land Region:
- Progress through the main quests to unlock the Sterile Land, regardless of whether you’ve unlocked Bunny or not.
- Unlock the Repository Region:
- Complete the purple quest icons in the Sterile Land to unlock the Repository region.
- Unlock the Restricted Zone:
- Repeat the process by completing the purple quest icons in the Repository Region to unlock the Restricted Zone.
- Locate the Records in the Restricted Zone:
- Head to the bottom left corner of the Restricted Zone, near the High-Powered Jammer mission.
- You don’t need to complete the High-Powered Jammer mission; just navigate to that area.
- Look for a Journal on the cliffs marked on the map with an option to “Check Records”. It’s small and located at the very edge of the cliff, so be vigilant.
- Retrieve and Listen to the Descendant Record:
- Pick up the Journal and open the Journal Tab in your menu.
- Listen to the Descendant Record titled “Emergency Communications Records – Agent Cayden Voltia”.
Completing this will unlock the next mission, I Bet There’s Something More, which you can start by talking to Alpha back in Albion. Bunny’s quest chain includes several missions like this, requiring the unlocking of more regions. If you’ve just reached the Sterile Land, additional missions in this chain will become accessible as you progress further.
