Game Review: Pokémon Sword & Shield

As a Pokemon lover, I will take great pleasure in introducing the best pokemon game ever released to my dear readers. Yes, a lot of Pokémon games have been released so far, but none have impressed me as much as Pokemon Sword and Shield. Let’s examine the features that make this game the best and why it is the best Pokémon game ever.

As you know that an open-world Pokémon game for Switch Pokémon Legends: Arceus was announced by the Pokémon Company on February 26. According to the published trailer, Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be a Pokémon game with an open world and offer a better experience than the Pokemon Sword & Shield game. But Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which will be released in 2022, is not the subject of this article. This article will be a review for those who want to buy the Pokémon Swords & Shield game.

A note for those who want to purchase The Pokémon Sword & Shield is, the game is unfortunately available for only Nintendo Switch, and you can purchase the game from Nintendo Store. You can also find the official Pokémon Swords & Shield download link on Lawod.

Pokémon Swords & Shield in Nutshell

The Pokémon Sword & Shield game has the usual story, like a general Pokémon story. The game takes place in a new town called a Galar, which is obviously inspired by the UK. You start the game as a promising Pokémon trainer, and your goal is to become the regional champion. Throughout the game, you collect badges to join the Pokémon League with your best friend and explore the world. The Pokémon Sword & Shield has a scenario expected from the full Pokémon game. The play story is intertwined with Pokémon knowledge and has allowed you to discover a variety of Pokémon. One of the most beautiful aspects of the game is this discovery, especially in the Wild Area. You never know which pokemon to discover, and you don’t know its level until you interact. Isn’t it quite exciting?

You can find the official trailer of Pokémon Swords & Shield below.

Technical Details of Pokémon Swords & Shield

Pokémon Sword & Shield offers a much larger map, more vibrant and dynamic graphics than previous Pokémon games. The story is similar to other games, but this is the story that made Pokémon is Pokémon, isn’t it? Since Pokémon games are a game that is released on mobile devices such as Nintendo Switch, it is necessary to cut down on technology. This was a fact for previous games, but not for Pokémon Sword & Shield. Everything feels as it should be in this game. Although it is very exciting to think that an open-world Pokémon game is released on powerful devices such as PCs, I guess we will wait longer for it.

Pokémon Swords & Shield In-Game Atmosphere

Another beauty of the Pokémon Sword & Shield game is that, unlike other games, it reflects the Pokémon League as a spectator sport played in large stadiums such as the Premier League. Thousands of people watch these Pokémon encounters, and the people on the street cheer you up when you win a big match. While strolling the streets of Galar, you will encounter many instructors, and also you will be able to collect collectible cards.

Negatives of Pokémon Swords & Shield

When you look at the dialogues in the game, you will say why there is no voiceover in this game. Unfortunately, I can say that this is the worst part of the Pokémon Sword & Shield game. While playing the game, you only read subtitles during the dialogue. Why is there no voiceover!

Pokémon Sword & Shield is also a relatively easy game. Until you come to the last battles, you do not go into too many tough battles. In this respect, it was a game similar to the previous games.

Author Rating: 7/10

As a result, Pokémon Swords & Shield has managed to excite Pokémon lovers with its story and atmosphere. Especially the fact that it has a very different structure from the previous Pokémon games. Moreover, it gives the atmosphere of the Pokémon game that we expect to be an RPG-style game. I must say that I especially like the atmosphere of the Pokémon League and the stadiums in Galar.

I have mentioned the negative aspects of the game in the article above. I think the absence of voiceover is a huge deficiency. Another negative aspect was that we expected that the game was a bit easy game. Finally, we can say that it is a game released only for Nintendo Switch.

When we evaluate all this, Pokémon Swords & Shield got 3,5 points out of 5 from me.
