Forspoken is an open-world game that allows you to explore the beautiful yet dangerous fantasy world of Athia. It has incredibly immersive and detailed graphics, with ray-tracing and Global Illumination helping to give the world a realistic feel. It is accompanied by an epic soundtrack composed by Bear McCreary (God of War Ragnarok) and Gary Schyman (BioShock).
While some are unsure about whether Forspoken is worth the hype, others are excited to get their hands on a brand-new title from one of the biggest names in video games. We thought we’d look at all the details you’ll need to know about Forspoken before you decide to jump on board.
What is Forspoken?
Developed by Luminous Productions and published by Square Enix, Forspoken features an interesting blend of RPG action–adventure elements. It centers on a woman named Frey Holland who is transported to a parallel world, where she develops new magical abilities and finds herself in a war between humans and powerful beings called Tantas. She must battle monstrous creatures and corrupted witches called Tantas in her quest to find her way home.
In the world of Forspoken, magic is at the core of everything. Players will have a range of spells at their disposal, with four primary types available. They can be used in a variety of ways, from long-distance powers to close-range attacks. Aside from a wide variety of spells, Forspoken also offers players a number of combat styles to choose from. This includes a unique parkour system that lets you scale walls, vault across canyons, leap from dizzying heights, and an array of movement-based magic attacks.
On What Platforms is Forspoken Available?
Forspoken is currently available on PlayStation 5 and PC, and if you’re interested in checking it out before you buy, you can download the demo version of Forspoken for PC. This is the first time that a PC version of Forspoken has received a demo, and it’s a great opportunity for anyone who wants to test their PC and see how it performs before committing to a full purchase.
For those playing on the PlayStation 5 console, Square Enix has also released the demo for the game, which can be downloaded from the game’s website or through the PlayStation Store.The free demo can be played on full screen and features various quests that can be completed to earn experience, Fount of Blessings, and crafting items.
Where to Get Forspoken?
Forspoken is currently available for PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store though it has a few hefty system requirements. There are two different releases for the game:
- Forspoken Digital Deluxe Edition
- Forspoken Digital Standard Edition
You can get both of these versions via all three of the stores. If you’re a PS5 user, you can get both versions of Forspoken via PlayStation Store.
