When it was first announced back in 2020, the cute co-op brawling game Party Animals looked like a fun way to beat the summer boredom. Unfortunately, unforeseen delays scuppered the chance to join cute bunnies, dinosaurs, and a baby crocodile in wacky physics-based combat, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t hope for this frantic party game.
Party Animals is a multiplayer physics-based brawler/party game where you can punch, toss, and kick adorable animals (other players) or beat them with various weapons like crossbows. The gameplay itself is reminiscent of the hit indie title Gang Beasts, with some similar wonky ragdoll movement, but the developers have added plenty of new layers to make the experience more enjoyable.
In addition to the standard fisticuffs, Party Animals will also offer a number of online and offline multiplayer game modes. These game modes range from free-for-all skirmishes to objective-based missions.
The diverse range of characters and environments will allow for the creation of some entertaining encounters, such as lollipop warfare between a bunny and a dinosaur.
When is the Party Animals Release Date?
Developers Revealed Various Goals To Achieve Before the Launch
Recreate Games has revealed a number of goals it hopes to achieve before the Party Animals release date in September, including partner platform approval and two server stress tests.
The team has also promised to bring an offline build of the game. While it isn’t clear whether or not there will be a story in Party Animals, most physics-based brawlers don’t really focus on a narrative. The bonds and friendships that are formed or destroyed as you push, toss, grab, and smack each other will create their own stories, though.
Party Animals PC System Requirements
The system requirements for Party Animals appear to be fairly modest, with a minimum of 4 GB of RAM required and 8 GB recommended. However, you’ll need a fairly high-end graphics card to run the game.
Recreate Games has yet to reveal a price for the game, but it is expected to be priced in line with other titles of this type. Check out the trailer for the wacky physics-based brawler below.
