Sony has released the PS Plus free games for October 2022, which means those who delayed claiming Need for Speed Heat, Granblue Fantasy Versus, and TOEM as the September 2022 PS Plus free games have officially missed the window. Of course, new games replace old ones in the same monthly cycle.
Sony has a habit of announcing new PS Plus free games on the final Wednesday before the first Tuesday of the month, with the games releasing on that Tuesday. Hot Wheels Unleashed, Injustice 2, and Superhot are now available as PS Plus free games for October 2022.

Hot Wheels Unleashed allows players to collect vehicles from their universe, construct courses, and compete in races as exciting as September’s Need for Speed Heat. In the meantime, Injustice 2 is a DC fighting game made by NetherRealm Studios (the developer of Mortal Kombat, for those unaware), and Superhot is a game in which players must manipulate time to defeat various adversaries. These games are available to all PS Plus subscribers worldwide, although those in Asian regions can also claim two different games.
Rogue Explorer, a hack-and-slash roguelike game, and Crisis Wing, a vertical shoot ’em up, are available to PS Plus subscribers in Asia. Both of these games are native to the PS5 and PS4 platforms, with Hot Wheels Unleashed being the only native PS5 title available in all regions. Of course, all of these games are playable through backward compatibility, so any PS5 user will be able to try them out.
Fans will access these titles through October 31, with the following selection becoming available on November 1. Of course, Sony is expected to disclose and release the PS Plus Extra and Premium titles for October 2022 before then. The pattern isn’t completely established yet, but fans may anticipate this release during the week of October 17.
