The Modern Axe is the best Axe in Sons of the Forest because it’s a balanced weapon for offense, speed, and defense. It’s also a great choice for fighting mutants, as it can decapitate them in one solid swipe.
How to Get All Axes in Sons of the Forest?
There are three different types of axes in the game: the Tactical Axe, the Modern Axe, and the Firefighter Axe. Each has different stats, including speed, strength, and defense.
- As we said at the beginning of our article, you’ll have the Tactical Axe in your inventory when you first start up in Sons of the Forest. This is a good way to get started, as it allows you to chop down trees and bushes to gather materials quickly. However, you’ll need to upgrade your Axe later on in the game.
- To upgrade your Axe, you need to find the Modern Axe. You need to visit an abandoned campsite in the northwest corner of the map, just off the snowy mountain range. Once you get there, a purple marker will appear on your GPS device. Then, you will need to head to a tent that has a dead hiker’s body by the center of it. You can find the Axe by walking towards the body and approaching it. When you do, the Axe will appear, and you can interact with it to add it to your inventory. This camp is also a good place to find some rebreather equipment and the rope gun. This tool is slower to swing than the Tactical Axe but does more damage. In fact, it can cut down trees with significantly fewer strikes.
- The Firefighter Axe is a little more challenging to find than the other two, as it requires a shovel before you can dig up Maintenance A. You’ll need to get the rebreather and rope gun to get the shovel. Once you have all these items, you can head to the marked area on your map, where you’ll see some golf caddies and a few torches. Then, dig around for a while, and eventually, you’ll unearth Maintenance A. After locating Maintenance A, you’ll be given a keycard to open the door. Once inside, you’ll be able to access a chest that holds the Firefighter Axe.
